Does anyone knows how to make this thing work or is it simply a device that will only work with Redmond's stuff.
I can't figure it out, and my reading on the matter is not giving any results. Last edited by Serge Denault : 10-14-2007 at 06:04 PM. |

For those interested, here is my solution.
1, Download and intall gspcav1-20070508.tar.gz from http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html 2. Install camstream with Synaptic. Hope this will be useful to all SD |

From what I tried, that fix is not available for the 6.x versions of mepis because debhelper is the wrong version.
Required = 5.0.37 Available = 5.0.7ubuntu13 and upgrading this to the required version introduces more dependency issues akin to rpm dependency hell. Thank God we have Debian based system. Mike P |

Not sure I get this, m_pav. On 6.5.02 I downloaded the driver package from that link, did make and make install, then modprobe gspca, then lsmod | grep gspca and it is there.
What am I missing? |

No idea, though from Googling it looks like it may be a MySQL problem. Did you download the correct package this time (sorry!) for kernel > 2.6.11?

Yeah, I've got the right one. The site does not provide a md5sum to check my dl against, so there is no way of knowing, even though I've dl it a couple of times with the same result.
Could somebody please provide a md5sum of their downloaded file? Thanks Mike P |

It works fine in the latest beta. Must be an issue with my current 6.5 installation. I would be using the beta more often, but the latest nvidia driver from the repos is crashing the system frequently.

I've found the cause of the problem in 6.5, it was whitespace in the path to the file/folder and make could not interpret the whitespace.
I copied the dl file to my home, extracted it, checked the path to file had no whitespace and everything worked fine. Mike P |
