Info on Hans Reiser (inventor of Reiserfs) and his family was on 20/20 this past Friday. I didn't see it, but I read the transcript at http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=3807336&page=1
Interesting stuff. Here is an article in Wired -- http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/han...ial/index.html Reiser Attorney Says Defending Linux Programmer 'A Challenging Thing' Did anybody see Warren at the Ohio LinuxFest at the end of September? This is the part that seems strange to me: Asked if he thinks that Nina is alive today, Reiser said, "I think I'm a person who doesn't know."
I believe that I would say: I don't know. or I pray she is. Outside of that it seems he is giving the same story he did a year ago. |

I can believe a gold-digger, no matter what she had in .ru. I can believe an abusive husband. I can believe mutual instigation and escalation in the midst of a divorce. Sadly, I've seen too many family law cases, over the years, to continue being so naive that I don't believe that things like this exist.
I do have trouble believing that he can be ethically charged, much less justly convicted without a body to even prove a murder took place. I quit thinking about it months ago; because, considering the children, this is nothing but tragic. |

I've read about this case, and saw the 20/20 episode. HR is one strange person, who hangs with even stranger friends. He is certainly a technical genius, but his behaviour and personna are more than a bit creepy.

The case against HR seems to be based on circumstantial "evidence" only.
Not sufficient to convict someone of murder. Regards, Ko |

That might be true... but right now... if he comes before a jury like he is, I think they will find him guilty. Something odd doesn't ring right about his words or actions, and the prosecution will probably play on that. Combined with the comments that he (Hans) is going to be difficult to defend, and I think his defense lawyer is already planning on losing.

How can someone be convicted of murder if nobody can prove there was a murder? Hard evidence and suspicions of foul play are quite different things. Regards, Ko |
